Monongahela Power Company (Monongahela), together with its consolidated subsidiaries is a wholly owned subsidiary of Allegheny Energy, Inc. Monongahela, along with its regulated utility affiliates, The Potomac Edison Company (Potomac Edison) and West Penn Power Company (West Penn), collectively doing business as Allegheny Power, operates electric transmission and distribution (T&D) systems. Monongahela has two business segments: Generation and Marketing segment and Delivery and Services segment. On March 12, 2007, and April 27, 2007, Monongahela entered into an agreement with Washington Group International (WGI) and The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) to install flue gas desulfurization equipment, or scrubbers, at its coal-fired Fort Martin Power Station.
