Banco Ganadero S.A. principally is engaged in commercial banking, providing general banking services to the domestic corporate, public and retail sectors of the Colombian economy. At December 31, 1998, the Company had 302 branches and points of service in 99 cities and towns in Colombia. Additionally, the Bank offers international banking services through its wholly owned subsidiary in Panama City, Panama; its agency in Miami, Florida; and its branch in Caracas, Venezuela. The Bank, through its subsidiaries and affiliates, also offers a wide variety of related financial services in Colombia, including asset and pension fund management, leasing, securities brokerage, investment banking, fiduciary and custodial services, insurance, real estate brokerage, management and development. As of December 31, 1998 the Company had total assets of approximately COP5.9 trillion.
