VLSI Technology, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets custom and semi-custom integrated circuits targeted at specific areas of the electronics marketplace. These products address a range of applications in the wireless communications, networking, consumer digital entertainment and advanced computing markets. VLSI markets its products primarily to OEM (original equipment manufacturer) customers in these markets. The Company's products reduce the number of integrated circuit devices required for a given application while combining proprietary and common product features and functionality to optimize customers' products. VLSI operates 23 Sales/Technology Centers dispersed in North America, Europe, the Asia-Pacific and Japan. In its worldwide network of Sales/Technology Centers, experienced engineers with a specific technical focus work directly with customers to develop designs for new products and to provide continuing post-sale customer support.
