Empresa Electrica Valle Hermoso SA is a Bolivia-based company that, along with its 98%-owned subsidiary Empresa Rio Electrico SA, is engaged in the energy sector. Its activities include the generation of electricity, which is sold to distribution companies enrolled in the national interconnected system (Sistema Interconectado Nacional SIN), as well as to non-regulated customers. The Company’s facilities include the Carrasco and Valle Hermoso thermoelectric power stations and the Rio del Yura hydroelectric plant, which in turn is divided in to three hydroelectric generation plants: the Kilpani, Landara and Punutuma. As of December 31, 2009, the Company’s majority shareholder was Bolivian Generating Group, with 50% of its interests.
