Business Summary
Fibrek Inc., along with its subsidiaries, is a producer and marketer of virgin and recycled kraft pulp. The Company operates in two segments: northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) pulp segment and recycled bleached kraft (RBK) pulp segment. It owns a NBSK pulp mill located in Saint-Felicien, Quebec (the Saint- Felicien Mill), approximately 450 kilometers north of Montreal in the Lac-Saint-Jean region. It also owns a RBK pulp mill located in Fairmont, West Virginia (the Fairmont Mill) and a RBK pulp mill located in Menominee, Michigan (the Menominee Mill, and together with the Fairmont Mill, the Fairmont and Menominee Mills). Both mills manufacture air-dried RBK pulp for sale on the open market (market pulp). The Fairmont and Menominee Mills primarily supply RBK pulp to manufacturers of uncoated freesheet and coated papers, commercial and away-from-home tissue.
